Explore the Ashtanga practice with Anand D, an experienced practitioner with a rich
background. Anand began his Ashtanga journey in 2015 Rishikesh, India. Becoming a Level 2
Practitioner under the supervision of Vijay Kumar in Mysore since 2018, he continued his studies through multiple trips to Mysore, India. Anand regularly returns to Mysore for ongoing study with his
teacher.

At The Yogi’s Garden, we offer a unique experience of “the real Bali” at our private retreat, wellness and educational center set within a working farm less than an hour from bustling Ubud.
Let your eyes soak in the views of Bali farmland, jungle, and mountains – especially the great Mt. Agung. When the sky is clear, this holy mountain is visible from the yoga shala, dining area, and the main guest residence, as well as many special look-out spots tucked around the property.
Delicious farm-fresh meals served by our restaurant will restore your body while you unwind and recharge after one of the classes.

Have you experienced an injury while inhaling or exhaling? The Ashtangamethod promotes smooth, consistent nasal breathing even in initiallyuncomfortable positions. Join Anand as we explore the breath, alternatingbetween theoretical discussions, seated breathing exercises, and practicalapplications of breathing techniques to commonly challenging posturesfound in the Primary Series.

4.00 pm: Bandhas in Backbends: Unlocking Mobility with Strength
What if the contrast isn't solely between flexibility and strength? How can we train our nervous systems to unlock our inherent flexibility? Let's delveinto backbending, with a practice emphasis on the early backbends of theintermediate level. Throughout this session, we'll delve into theimportance of strength in movements traditionally associated withflexibility.

In this full two hour immersion workshop you’ll learn:
• Practical tools to turn upside down with stability and grace.
• Anatomical patterns at play in your body while inverted
• Shoulder mechanics to stabilize your inversions
• Knowledge you can use whether you’re balancing on your head, hands or elbows

This module will Break down the elements of different postures in the primary series, including standing potures, forward bending and back bending. Anand will explain the dynamic of being sensisitive and responsible when appraoching adjusting different students.

4.00 pm: Refining Adjustments in Key Postures
This session will focus on refining adjustments in challenging postures within the Primary Series, including Marichyasana, Supta Kurmasana, and Setu Bandhasana. Emphasis will be placed on creating adjustments that support deeper alignment while avoiding strain, allowing each student to experience the posture safely and effectively.

FACILITATOR

Anand’s journey with yoga began in childhood, shaping his path toward becoming a certified Yoga Acharya Master from Sivananda Ashram in 2016 and Level 2 Ashtanga Practitioner under the supervision of Vijay Kumar in Mysore in 2018. His deep connection with conscious breathing, enhanced not only his spiritual journey but also his athletic pursuits.
​
Anand’s mastery of breathwork propelled him to victory in numerous OCR events and earned him recognition as a national SUP champion in India. His lifelong affinity for the ocean and freediving inspired him to blend yoga with pranayama techniques. Through retreats, workshops, and teacher training programs, Anand shares his transformative approach, empowering others to unlock their potential and find harmony within themselves and the world.
